The University of Nottingham
Nottingham has two of the best and most popular universities in the country. Nottingham University
is among the top UK universities for private research funding. It’s acclaimed research areas include
genetics, pharmacy, chemistry and physics.
The main 330-acre campus just outside Nottingham houses
faculties of arts, law/social sciences, education, science,
engineering, and medicine/health sciences. Agricultural/food
sciences are a little way off, on the Sutton Bonington campus near
Loughborough.
The Nottingham Trent University
Nottingham Trent University has facilities in three separate locations in and
around the thriving East Midlands city of Nottingham. Major subjects covered range from art and design
to science, mathematics and fiction.
Queens Medical Centre (QMC)
Nottingham's Queens Medical Centre incorporates the first medical school to be opened this century.
It has an international reputation for teaching, treatment and medical research. Many eminent doctors and
scientists carry out research at the QMC, while treating patients.
Prince Charles was treated at the QMC after he had injured his shoulder in a polo accident.
