technology strategy

The Nottingham Technology Strategy will be the means through which the city fulfils its role as the UK's first Technology Region. As such, it will be the focal point for the expertise and resources of the region, encompassing all organisations which contribute locally to the development of innovation and growth. The Strategy, will, therefore, be carried out through a comprehensive Technology Network of relevant agencies that includes:

  • Nottingham City Council
  • Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • The University of Nottingham
  • Nottingham Trent University
  • Nottingham Development Enterprise
  • Nottinghamshire County Council
  • Greater Nottingham Training & Enterprise Council
This Network will, furthermore, work closely with relevant government bodies, particularly the Trade & Industry Directorate of the Government Office for the East Midlands.

The Strategy is made up of Nine Action Plans, covering the areas of:

  • Technology Transfer
  • Innovation
  • Property
  • Finance
  • Europe
  • Training
  • Inward Investment/Marketing
  • Telecommunications
  • Business Support
