The Anubis Project
Let technology help your business become profitable
"Win £10,000 cash to invest in new technology" Here's the key to unlock the value of technology. The key is...ANUBIS III and £10,000 cash for you to invest in new technology for your organisation.
Last year, EMNET awarded £100,000 cash to SMEs across the Objective 2 areas of the East Midlands which applied for the ANUBIS project for funding. The benefits of the ANUBIS project are difficult to exaggerate. One company has already generated an additional £250,000 worth of orders since winning the ANUBIS grant and others have also enjoyed significant commercial success.
Thanks to the success, we are doing the same again this year. So if you’re someone who has a vision about how new technology could transform your business and a belief that it will work, then we want to hear from you. We want to push technology to the limits to help give your business the competitive edge.
Technology benefits businesses in so many ways. But often SMEs do not have the resources to manage technological change. It could be your business has a software system which needs developing, or perhaps you have identified a new business opportunity with customers but don’t have the necessary technological infrastructure to take it to market. Or more simply, your organisation is growing but you cannot manage the IT systems to aid integration and increase efficiencies.
Whatever your technological demands, ANUBIS III may be able to help you. The aim is to help businesses become more innovative and efficient through technology.
So, EMNET is looking for 10 companies in the region to win £10,000 cash in this business competition.
Impact of the project
Design and development of the project was originally undertaken as part of the EU structural funding programme "Innovative Actions". This programme provided "risk capital" for EU regions to deliver experimental projects.
The first Anubis project ran in 2005/6 and resulted in very significant growth in participating companies. The most successful companies generated £250,000, £100,000 and £70,000 over an initial six month period. Further study of the original companies indicates that success has continued and that at least one company generated a new start which is now trading with around a £1 million turnover.
The project has been identified as an example of best practice by the EU and presented as such to the E- Bsn on behalf of the Enterprise and Industry Directorate General of the European Commission.
