CODA Cyber Community - the information super-bridleway!
We are currently developing a 'cyber community' of online associates, ex-users and old friends far and wide who share a common interest in all things CODA. Hosted by Webb.Net it is a private virtual meeting place where information can be exchanged and shared, ideas discussed, issues aired and suggestions made - a place where people who care about CODA can keep up-to-date and participate in what we are, represent and do.
We intend to develop the 'virtual communities' idea and extend it to our base of artist, community and business users, enabling them to build their own 'cyber communities' to link and share, collaborate and co-operate, help, support and communicate with likeminded people with compatible objectives.
Infrastructure Developments
CODA is continually striving to keep up-to-date with changes in the computer world so that we can offer the best software running on the best hardware.
At present we're planning to develop a powerful network infrastructure within CODA - future-proofed so that it can link with the emerging Broadway Cinema network and eventually be extended throughout the entire Media Centre. Part of the plan is to introduce public Internet Access Points in the Broadway foyer, free to use. This will extend the Centre as a digital resource and enable Broadway film audiences to learn more about films and cinema craft, what's going on in the Media Centre, and to avail themselves of general Internet information tools.
A further aspect is the construction of a sophisticated Intranet within the Media Centre that will enable easier and better internal communications including video conferencing.
The road ahead seduces the next footfall . . . there's a job to be done . . . let's get on with it!
