Intermedia is a production support, training and facilities company based in the centre of Nottingham. It provides a comprehensive service for film and media producers working at all levels in the industry. We are a non-profit making organisation which, in order to keep prices down, operates on a membership basis. It's easy to join and membership entitles you to regular newsletters, industry workshops and much more. PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT Production at Intermedia seeks to support the work of freelance producers and directors in the region and to provide help and advice to producers and directors across the UK wishing to film in the East Midlands. The department holds workshops and seminars throughout the year, tailored specifically to the needs of our members. Intermedia supports new talent and has a strong track record as a warehousing production company that produces and executive produces projects in-house. Intermedia also administers EMMI (East Midlands Media Initiative), a production and development finance scheme for regional independents. EMMI makes awards at regular intervals throughout the year. TRAINING Vocational training at Intermedia is delivered by industry professionals, across a wide range of specialist technical skills. Our new short course syllabus includes digital camera and desktop non-linear editing courses. We also run a year-long NEMAP accredited Foundation Skills course. Short courses can also be tailored to suit your needs. Previous students have gone on to work in all areas of broadcasting and production including Feature Films, BBC, Central and Channel Four. FACILITIES Facilities at Intermedia include a broadcast quality multi-camera studio, film and video production kits and a range of editing suites which are available for commercial and subsidised hire. Membership must be taken out before equipment can be hired. To join we require two passport-sized photographs and two forms of identification, to include a driving licence or passport and a formal bill or letter giving your current address. Membership is renewed on a yearly basis. Our facilities are cross-subsidised in the following manner: Rate A: Commercial work Rate B: Grant aided; local authority departments; education departments; schools and colleges including students working on college projects; trade unions; funded community groups. Rate C: Individuals working on unfunded projects; unfunded community groups. MULTI CAMERA TV STUDIO Intermedia's Studio and Control Room is designed to broadcast specifications. Fully sound-proofed and air-conditioned, it is a very comfortable working space that can be specifically tailored to suit your needs. We will be glad to discuss your requirements and provide any further information you may require. Equipment includes up to three cameras and pedestals, two vision mixers, chromakey facility, a sound mixer, two playback VTR's, titling machine, overhead lighting rig and assorted lights that can be controlled from a lighting desk. In addition a greenroom and kitchen can be made available. We can also provide details of freelance technicians in the area.
