CODA (Community Data) - CODA for short - is a not-for-profit community-access computer resource in social ownership based at the Nottingham Media Centre in the historic Lace Market area of the city.
"Applying computer power for social, economic and creative community enterprise."
We provide access to IT, ICT and creative PC computer resources for:
The Management Committee meets monthly and has full legal responsibility for the company. The Committee is also responsible for advising and supporting staff in financial, planning, strategy and policy matters. The Committee in turn receives information, advice and recommendations from staff. Thus decisions affecting CODA are taken jointly by workers and Committee members, united in deciding the direction of future CODA developments. We believe that community access resources organisations such as CODA (Community Data) should have transparent systems and user guidance rules so that ALL users can enjoy a safe, secure, friendly and supportive working environment. CODA maintains a staunch belief in the positive diversity of peoples and cultures, and in the fundamental strands of humanity that bind us together. We are out and proud in actively supporting gay, lesbian and bi individuals and groups. CODA is honoured by our women users and Women's issue group members including Nottingham Women's Centre. We're privileged to be of service to the black and Asian communities of Nottingham, and likewise celebrate the value of people with disabilities and their associated campaign and support groups. We are proud to support groups campaigning for social justice and world development. |
