The Knitting Industries' Federation (KIF) is the National Employers' Organisation for the £ 2bn UK Knitting industries. The KIF enjoys the voluntary membership of around 300 firms who collectively account for 65% of UK output and employment of 58,000 workers. Member services include:-
- Industrial Relations, including negotiation of National Annual Pay Round with the Trade Union, advice on employment law and representation at Industrial Tribunals
- The Environmental issues, including colour in textile effluent, Ecolabelling, recycling of packaging and other waste
- Health and Safety, including a Self Assessment Pack and associated training
- Business Mentoring
- Design Advice, including trend forecasting
- An Industrywide money purchase Pension Scheme for members' employees
- Knitting Industry Statistics
- Government lobbying, particularly on international trade policy issues, e.g. MFA, origin rules, barriers to trade
- An ability to assist UK manufacturers to find partners in other EU Member States
- Put buyers of knitted goods into contact with potential UK suppliers
- KIF membership includes free membership of the British Knitting and Clothing Export Council
The Minimum Subscription is £ 300 and the Maximum subscription is £
30,000 per annum.
