It occurred to us that steel - which is almost exclusively used by woodturners - was the wrong medium for holding wood! What was needed was a softer material which would not mark the wood when clamped hard... and a material soft enough to shape to the woodturners exact requirements USING WOODTURNING TOOLS. After experimenting, we finally arrived at an ideal solution - a special industrial PLASTIC. We made 4 jaws with detail underneath to fit onto 100mm 4-jaw scroll chucks already in use by woodturners.... and sent them freely around the world for comment and appraisal. The results have been universally favorable.
